Chapter 14 2 Nephi 31-33

Some of my favorite principles taught in these chapters are:
1) The Doctrine of Christ
2) We must endure to the end...those who endure are balanced, consistent, humble, constantly improving, and without guile. Their testimonies are not based on worldly reasons...they are based on truth, knowledge, experience, and the Spirit.
3) The words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do..2Ne. 32:5...this is truly one of my favoirte scriptures...what a magnificent promise...I think about this scripture frequently. To me it means if we are regularly studying the scriptures and words of the prophets, the Holy Ghost will prompt us ALWAYS in the direction we need to go.
4) If we are missing our individual prayers, we are following the evil spirit...knowing this HELPS me remember!! Read 2Ne. 32:8

It's hard to say goodbye to Nephi. His testimony and farewell at the end of 2Ne. is so powerful!

Chapter 13 2 Nephi 28-30

I LOVE these chapters...I know..I say that about all of them....but these final chapters of Nephi are truly among my favorites because you can feel Nephi's spirit and personality sooo much as he bears his final testimony to his people, knowing that at some future date his descendants will read this. I also LOVE living at a time when we have seen the fulfillment of sooo many of these prophecies. The tactics of satan have not changed, he just uses our modern world to promote them.
In 2 Nephi 29: 13...he mentions 3 groups whose scriptures and testimony of the Savior will be had among us....right now we have the first two...wow, it will be exciting when the words of the lost tribes of Israel are brought forth!
Chapters 31 and 32 are sooo full of pure doctrine! 2 Ne. 31:17-18 are among my favorites, also...32:3, 8-9, and his final farewell/testimony at the end of chapter 33. I so look forward to meeting him someday.

Chapters 10, 11, 12 2 Nephi 11-27

Hey, Girls, these are the Isaiah Chapters. We pretty much followed all of the helps in the Institute Manual in class during these chapters. I remember when I used to just sort of skip over these chapters (and I was older than any of you!) because I thought they were beyond understanding, but now I actually love them. It takes carefully reading verse by verse and the minute you don't understand go immediately to the Institute helps...just read them together. My favorite book of helps is "Isaiah Made Easier" by David J. Ridges.....he goes through Isaiah verse by verse explaining how we would say that now in our language.....it is very good and he is also very funny!!
